THE
DUNCHURCH BAND

We
welcomed back to The Grange Hall, the Dunchurch Band where versatility of
music and good humour makes for a most entertaining evening.
Jayne Dalley has made quite a few appearances here – last year was the
first time she sang with a Band – she obviously enjoyed the experience as
she has agreed to sing again this year!

SATURDAY 9 DECEMBER 2006
“SNOW WHITE”, by
KATCH 22 PRODUCTIONS
A
Traditional Fun-filled Family Pantomime
Katch22 Productions again
lived up to their reputation with "Snow White" on Saturday 9 December when
over 150 people arrived at the Grange Hall for the afternoon matinee. 45
Brownies experienced their Christmas treat with us, 25 children came to a
5th birthday party treat and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
We look forward to Katch22 returning next December. We also put the
same performance on especially for 130 children and staff from Harbury
School on Friday 1st of December; this was the 5th year running that this
particular school has been here for our pantomime and they all, without
exception, had a thoroughly enjoyable morning (oh yes they did!)
SATURDAY 9 DECEMBER 2006
THE
ORCHESTRA OF THE SWAN
“CHRISTMAS CONCERT”
Conductor: David Curtis
GUEST CHOIR: CORINO
The Orchestra of the Swan
Christmas Concert was again an extremely enjoyable occasion, which got the
audience into the festive spirit. Corino Choir, as expected, sang
beautifully and each complemented the other, with the audience joining in
with the carols. Mulled wine and mince pies added to the evening,
and a lovely concert was had by all.
The
Programme included:
Bottesinni Grand Duo
Manfredinia Christmas concerto
Scarlatti Christmas cantata
Albinoni Oboe concerto
New
Year's Eve Party
Sunday 31st December - when else?!
The New Year's Eve Party
was a tremendous success. The hall was decorated as you have never seen it
before with black and gold columns of balloons hanging from the ceiling in
the hall and bar room, a black and gold balloon arch across the stage and
various black and gold freestanding New Year arrangements. We
certainly achieved the "wow" factor! Grateful thanks go to Lee
Ellard and her team from Attica Promotions in Southam who were responsible
for this. Around 130 guests turned up and had a fantastic time.
We have never had so many compliments from so many people for one event
before, everything seemed just right - the buffet was excellent, the
complimentary glass of champagne chilled just right, and the entertainment
just fantastic. Robbie Darin stole the evening with a variety of
swing and rock and roll, joined by the Mean Fiddlers with their mix of
music and folk. Most people were on the dance floor most of the time, and
all enjoyed the countdown to Midnight when the piper played amidst smoke
on the stage - very atmospheric! The whole stage in fact was very
professionally decorated with gold shimmer curtains and gold voile swags,
with hanging flames and moving head lighting effects! Before we knew it,
1.00am arrived.
A fantastic night, with
many requests for another one next year! |
